It has acquired rights to open bakeries in seven states and is opening at a new location in Newton, MA. All the products of Annie May’s Sweet Cafe are free of the top eight food allergens. The company was founded by Robert May in Louisville, Kentucky, and the original cafe is growing 30% year-over-year. The proceeds of the current crowdfunding round, with a minimum goal of $200,000 and a maximum goal of $1,000,000, will be used to fund the wholesale and e-commerce business and to open the second bakery. The new location as Newton has been profitable in its very first month of operations, with $5,400 of sales on the first full day.
