Caribu, with a valuation cap of $5 million, is raising crowdfunding on WeFunder. The Caribu platform allows parents and grandparents to read and draw along with their children through video calls. The technology of Caribu aims towards reducing the boredom of video calls and making them interactive and fun, even when the parents and kids are not at the same location. Caribu was founded by Maxeme Tuchman and Alvaro Sabido in 2016 and has raised about $1.3 million in previous rounds of funding. The current crowdfunding round has a minimum target of $50,000 and a maximum target of $1,000,000 and is expected to launch on June 21, 2019. The proceeds will be used to hire a VP of Growth Marketing and for marketing. Caribu already has more than 50,000 users in over 160 countries who spent 250,000 minutes on Caribu last year.
